ROLE SUMMARY
The General Manager of Corporate Services is responsible for Human Resources and Administration, Information Communication & Technology, and Corporate Communication Services.
The successful candidate shall be engaged on a five-year contract, renewable once. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Advise CEO on Human Resources & Administration, ICT & Corporate Communication issues.
ii. Ensure delivery of the Human Resource & Administration, ICT & Corporate Communication in line with the strategic plan.
iii. Oversee the management of ICT security and ensure the Organization’s systems and data are adequately secured.
iv. Promote organizational culture by entrenching core values.
v. Ensure the organization has the requisite workforce
vi. Oversee implementation of employee development strategies.
vii. Ensure effective compensation, rewards and recognition mechanisms.
viii. Oversee proper implementation of the employee relations, wellness and separation procedures.
ix. Promote conducive working environment
x. Ensure effective records management systems are in place
xi. Responsible for development and implementation of strategies to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards, internal policies and procedures.
xii. Responsible for preparation of Board papers on matters relating to Human Resource & Administration, ICT & Corporate Communication.
xiii. Ensure development of a comprehensive communications strategy for the Organization that will enhance the Organization’s image.
xiv. Ensure development of a sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
xv. Oversee all brand management activities including development of an organizational logo and colors that will effectively represent the Organization.
xvi. Ensure the Organization’s participation in relevant stakeholder activities.
xvii. Develop and monitor risk assessment and management policies and controls
xviii. Develop, implement, review, and ensure compliance to all departmental policies, regulations and guidelines.
xix. Oversee implementation of all departmental projects.
xx. Develop, monitor and report on the department work-plan and performance.
xxi. Develop, monitor and ensure prudent utilization of the departmental budgets.
xxii. Develop and monitor implementation of the procurement plan.
xxiii. Mentoring and coaching staff.
xxiv. Prepare and submit timely reports and information for decision making.
xxv. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
i. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields:- Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Business/Public Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
ii. Master’s Degree in any of the following fields:- Human Resource Management, Business/Public Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
iii. At least Twelve (12) years’ work experience five (5) of which must be in senior management
iv. Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
v. Professional qualification and membership for a relevant professional body
vi. Holder of a valid Practicing Certificate and License in Human Resources Management
vii. Proficiency in Computer Applications
viii. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution
ix. Demonstrated high standards of professional competence and managerial ability
